First look at Matt Smith as the New Doctor Who

Michael (Bow wow) Vick was released from home confinement today as his 23 month sentence came to an end. Vick received 23 months for participating in a dog fighting ring. He hopes to restart his NFL career but if he can it will not be with his former team the Atlanta Falcons who released Vick from his contract in June.

Being a dog lover myself I have to say he broke the law, dogs suffered he should be punished. However as we all know (even those there are some who refuse to admit this) we have a dual legal system. Because while Michael Vick was dog fighting and will be paying for that for awhile, I saw a “Subway” commercial today with Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. Yes that Michael Phelps who was caught on camera smoking weed. That Michael Phelps who already had 1 DUI arrest. That Michael Phelps who clearly has broken the law a couple times and got on TV apologized and it has not seemed to slow down his career.

Sports figures, Entertainers, the rich and powerful break the law just as much as the average Joe and for the record I don’t think one mistake should kill a career. So I wish Mr. Vick all the best of luck re-igniting his career and having the staying power that Phelps has had.

Who knew I needed a blogging vacation? But the last two weeks pretty much media free seems to have done the trick. My batteries are recharged and I am feeling my stride so with that said on to blogging!

A-list event or Michael memorial??

The show of shows that is the death of Michael Jackson continues as the names of those participating in the memorial service is released. While I am sure that some of these folks are genuinely saying goodbye to a friend and a fellow musician, others see this as a high note on their resume'.

The only porta potty for me!

My mother is responsible for giving me many things, one of them is the love of restaurants. But for her no eatery can get a gold star until she has checked out the little girls room. A bad bathroom can keep her from ever returning to a otherwise fine dining establishment. And while this particular rest room is not located inside a restaurant or even inside for that matter, I think this is a potty area we can all get "behind"!

This outdoor automatic self cleaning toilet is located in San Fransisco. The city installed 25 of these units at 25,000 a piece but there very popular and have gone over well.

Not only it this little doodad completly automated from the time the door opens til the time you leave, but once your done, it takes 55 seconds to completley clean itself. The bowl dissapears into the wall to be santized and jets of warm soapy water clean the floor after each use. All of this is hands free. there is even a button for 911 in case of emergency whole you are handling your business.

But as with all good things nothing is forever. The floor sensors have a 22 minute time limit on them. You get a warning at minute 20 from the time you step in that in 2 minutes the door will open. So watch what you eat before entering....
