Wall Street Watch : Citibank is making pretty!

Hey America, were remodeling…..

Someone will have to explain this to me. So the day after Chief Executive of AIG, Ed Liddy is called to Congress to answer questions about 165 million dollar bonuses with tax payer dollars why on earth would Citibank, who has come to the table three times for a grand total of 45 billion dollars, is spending 10 million dollars to renovate executive offices. Bloomberg news broke the story today about the new offices being prepared for the New York offices.

CEO Vikram Pandit defended the plans saying that in the long run these renovations were cost saving maneuvers. I say if your office is not falling in on you, wait till you can afford renovations with your own money, then you don’t have to defend yourself to anyone.

It is becoming quite clear that we need to roll one big police truck up to Wall Street and just start locking folks up right now.

Flight of the vanities!

I have sat at the computer for the last 15 minutes trying to compose this blog entry. I just don’t understand America so maybe you can help me. Citigroup, my personal banking institution, got a government bailout and at no point after the AIG bank retreat scandal and the Detroit big wigs arriving in Washington in their separate private planes, did anyone inside the penthouse offices of Citigroup think that not canceling the order on the 50 million dollar private jet was not a good idea?

I mean I know the plane was clearly ordered before the financial collapse but really, you didn’t cancel the order. Ok honestly at this point none of these guys can surprise me anymore.
