Top Chef judge and straight bear hottie Tom Colicchio was at a charity event last night being hounded by over enthusiastic fans about last weeks elimination when he heard someone screaming for help. Joan Nathan , the American Cookbook author, was choking on a piece of chicken. Tom applied the heimlich manuver and freed the chicken from her throat.

What amazes me is that culinary legend Alice Waters was yelling for help and Tom stepped in. I would think she could do the Heimlich.....unless the Nathan is bigger than Alice
