When M. Night first hit the scene I was really excited. He was a breath of fresh air and his stories were original. That lasted for 3 movies. Then there was a string of WTF movies starting with “The Village” and “The Happening”. So when it was announced that M. would be directing the live action remake of “Avatar The last airbender” an American anime, I was more than a little nervous. When word came out that there was an all white cast to play these Asian characters I was just scared. And even though I still have issues with the casting I have to admit the trailer kind of blew me away!

Fear and the GOP

I head heard rumors but yesterday I saw it, actual proof that the GOP, the party of the old white man, is scared to death. The United States is quickly sliding to a place that resembles a general melting pot and not White men standing on top of everyone else, and they are scared.

Superhero Theatre

I continue to be amazed by the talent that walks the streets that I would never see without the internet. It is truly the great equalizer. For a little over a year I have been following the youtube entries of a true artist. Just some random guy along with his partner in crime Just some random gal have produced a series of comic book action figure inspired theatre pieces. Here is the latest entry by the two and their producer Just some random cat!

Home made Television! Ahhh the drama!!!!!

There was a point in time when I did not own a television. Truth was I didn’t need it, I had my computer. At some point in the last three years pretty much every show I watch regularly was available on the net. Somehow I was able to get use to that much quicker than I was webseries. Don’t ask me why, it makes perfect sense. The internet has put your average Joe on the same playing field with Hollywood, but I still seem a little hesitant about them. However I came across one series a few weeks ago that might be changing my mind.

The production values are not the best (some sound issues and swinging boom mikes) and they don’t have a huge budget but the stories are solid and the acting is believable, and in the end isn’t that what you really want?

The series I speak of is “Drama Queenz”, a new comedy webseries about three actors and roommates dealing with life, love, and auditioning in New York City. The show is produced by a company called Novu Novus productions. Because I have nothing else to compare it to I have to put it in the same genre as “Noah’s ARC” from logo, but much more enjoyable. Like I said the stories are solid and are much more believable than it’s higher produced contemporary.

From the Drama Queenz press release:

“Each ten-minute webisode focuses on Jeremiah, a dreamer with ridiculously poor audition luck, Davis, a perfectionist whose hard work produces uneven results, and Preston, a realist whose inhibitions stir-up delightful “drama” for all to enjoy. Through madcap auditions, burgeoning romances, and heartbreaking realizations, the trio from Queens takes viewers on the zany rollercoaster ride that is the actor’s life.”

If you get the chance take a an hour and half pop some popcorn call some friends and check out the eight episode first season and send the production company a thumbs up. You’ll be glad you did!

For my 200th entry!

Wow...200 post. it does not feel like that much but 200 in six months. I guess i have a lot to share. Well I am going to do a time warp and ask a question. What happened?????? anyone my age and older will see this video and fall right in line. you might start looking for your African medallions or think about getting your high top fade back.



But again I asked what happened? Here we were rappers were trying to make a difference and using their rap for good and then they were shooting each other. What The Hell??!!!!

Bang Bang!!!

My blog friend Kevin and I have gotten into a debate about gun control. He is a staunch gun activist who believes that the new President Elect seeks to rob him of his 2nd amendment rights.

I grew up in the windy city with a healthy fear (or maybe not so healthy) of guns, and while I agree with the 2nd amendment i think there should be more gun control.



After asking him what a happy medium would be he asked me the same question and I had to be honest I had no answer, so I am researching. So along with these videos, one from Kevin's blog and one i heard about over the weekend I want to know your pro's and cons....
