Why I have opened the window!

Amerykah has turned a corner and we should all turn with it. I have thoughts ideas and suggestions but I also have patience and desire for us to be whole and one. I have been speaking a lot lately of the human condition and the generations of Black Americans. i will entertain any and all conversation as long as we can be respectful and grown up. Let the healing begin......

Chris Brown speaks......but does not say anything!

Chris Brown has released a statement thru People Magazine…..

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds.”

So the campaign to save the career of Chris Brown has officially begun. Black mothers, I know we all have faith in the lord but, for you do anything short of removing anything from your daughter’s belongings with the initials “CB” is just an open invitation to allow your girl children to be on the receiving end of some man’s abuse in years to come.

Legal matters will not allow him to go into details but do we really need them? You beat, hit, punched, and bit (we must never forget the biting you sissy) some grown person who did not have a gun pressed to your head or the head of a loved one.

Everytime a Chris Brown song comes on the radio my son shakes his head and asks me to change the channel. That makes me a very proud mom.

I think it is sad that this drama got more hype than the Grammy Awards.
